Russia has decided to release all Indians fighting on its behalf in Ukraine and help them return. Forced to work in the war by luring good salary
It is believed that about two dozen Indians were forced by agents to join the war against Ukraine by luring good salary. In March, the Indian government said that it had "strongly" raised the matter with the Russian authorities for their early release. He had said that strict action has been initiated against agents and unscrupulous elements who recruited them on false pretexts and promises.

Four Indians killed, 35-40 still trapped in Russia
According to the report, four Indians were killed in the war, while 10 have returned to the country. About 35-40 Indians are still believed to be trapped in Russia. The plight of Indians fighting for Russia in the Ukraine war is a major concern for New Delhi.

Victims had narrated their ordeal
In recent months, reports have emerged about Indians who fell prey to job fraud and reached Russia. These fraudulent youths were forced to fight on behalf of the Russian army. One such group had also posted a video on social media in which they narrated their ordeal and demanded the government to intervene. Actually, there is no ban on the recruitment of citizens of another country in the Russian army.

Indian government expressed deep concern
The Ministry of External Affairs of India has said that it is working hard to bring back Indians who were fraudulently recruited in the Russian army by agents. India's Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also described it as an issue of "very deep concern" for India. He said that discussions have been going on with Russia for the last few months on this serious issue.
